Week 93: Dreams come true y'all

Posted on November 27, 2016 at 5:35 PM

Hey y'all! It's me again.

So we got a shortened p-day this week because we'll have all day Thanksgiving to do the normal p-day stuff. But I'll go ahead and write you a quick update on things today, rather than Thursday.

This week has been great! Elder Simpson and I are having a great time here. We get along great, the ward is awesome, and we're having a lot of success. It's been a fun couple of weeks.

We're planning to have a couple baptis...

Posted on November 21, 2016 at 1:45 PM

Hello everyone! I'm out of time so I'm gonna keep this super short this week.

This week was awesome! The Copper Mountain Ward is very strong and the work is booming! We now have 2 people preparing to be baptized in December and some others who are close to being ready as well.

My new companion, Elder Simpson, is really great. He's from Georgia. We're gonna have a lot of fun this transfer!

I'm doing very well and am having success here. We ...

Week 91: Good things to come!

Posted on November 13, 2016 at 8:10 PM

Hello everybody!

I loved this week! The best thing about it was that we found 2 new investigators! We had dinners with the branch this week too (we eat with English wards 2 out of 3 weeks). I love eating with the branch because they make some super good food and I just love spending time in their homes.

So we got transfer calls the other day, and sadly, I'll be leaving again. Going to area #7! I'll be in the Copper Mountain Ward, the Spanish Ward in the Hun...

Week 90: Hi! Blog update

Posted on November 6, 2016 at 2:45 PM

Hey friends and family!

Today's Halloween so we didn't go out to teach. So we've just spent the day around other missionaries. It's been a good day!

So this past week was awesome! We found a new investigator, Samuel. He didn't know who we were and when we said we had a message about Jesus Christ he let us right in. So we talked about the Restoration of the church and the Book of Mormon. He accepted a copy and said he'd read it. He seemed very receptive. So ...

Week 89: Yoooooooo!

Posted on October 30, 2016 at 6:35 PM

Hey guys!

This week was SUPER! We had Zone Conference and it was wonderful. President Palmer, our mission president, is an inspired man. We talked a lot about baptism and how central it is to our purpose as missionaries, and some other stuff. It was a fantastic meeting. This week was FULL of meetings...but they were good and inspiring. A good spiritual meeting is an essential part of a balanced spiritual diet.

We've got some investigators now! One of them, ...

Week 88: Hi there!

Posted on October 23, 2016 at 5:40 PM

What a p-day! Today we went hiking in Big Cottonwood Canyon to a place called Lake Mary. It was super fun, especially since there was like 6 inches of snow and it was freezing. It was a lot of fun!! I'll include some pictures of that.

So on Saturday we had a good multicultural event! Lots of people came and there were a lot of cool dances and other performances from people from all over - Mexico, Bolivia, Venezuela, Samoa, and the Marshall Islands. It was cool! We really enj...

Week 87: Hey fam! And amigos!

Posted on October 16, 2016 at 10:50 PM

Hello all!

This email will be short because today we carved pumpkins as a zone! It was super fun. This zone is super fun and we hang out a lot. It's great!

So this week was super slow in our area again. We had interviews with President this week and he told us he may give us a couple English wards so that we have a little more work. So we are anxiously anticipating that call! But until then we're doing what we can here in the Branch. We cover a trailer p...

Week 86: GC weekend!

Posted on October 9, 2016 at 2:20 PM

Hello to everyone!

This week has been very good. General conference was amazing! It was a very spiritual. We watched it with some members and the other missionaries that serve in our stake. It was a lot of fun! We ate a lot of good food. But the talks were even better than that good food! I loved Elder Oaks' talk. It got me pumped for the last 4 months I have of full-time missionary work. And Elder Holland's message about visiting every member was spot-on! It's exactly what ...

Week 85: Transfers

Posted on October 2, 2016 at 4:00 PM

Hello! This week has been super crazy! Elder Leming has been packing to go home and will head back to North Carolina tomorrow morning! To celebrate, our Branch President Salas took us to this straight up Mexican place in Kearns for some authentic tacos. We both tried cow eye tacos and my companion tried cow lip. I thought the cow eye was disgusting. Squishy!!

We have a group of about 30 new missionaries coming in tomorrow, and my new companion is one of them. So I'll let you...

Week 84: G-g-g-Granger!

Posted on September 28, 2016 at 11:05 AM

Hello to all of you!

So the best thing that happened this week was that we had a great baptism! Irvin and Karina were super ready and excited. And all went super well with that. Elder Leming baptized Irvin and I got to baptize Karina. It was a great experience.

Then in the evening I got to go back to Kearns for the baptism of Jayden, a kid I got to teach the last few weeks I was there. Good kid. Good baptism.

Saturday was also Elder Leming...
